The Clash were an English punk rock band that formed in 1976 as part of the original wave of British punk. Along with punk, their music incorporated elements of reggae, ska, dub, funk, rap, dance, and rockabilly. For most of their recording career, the Clash consisted ofJoe Strummer (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mick Jones (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Simonon (bass guitar, vocals) and Nicky "Topper" Headon (drums, percussion). Headon left the group in 1982, and internal friction led to Jones's departure the following year. The group continued with new members, but finally disbanded in early 1986.

The Clash achieved commercial success in the United Kingdom with the release of their debut album, The Clash, in 1977. Their third album, London Calling, released in the UK in December 1979, brought them popularity in the United States when it came out there the following month. Critically acclaimed, it was declared the best album of the 1980s a decade later by Rolling Stone magazine.^[1]

The Clash's politicized lyrics, musical experimentation and rebellious attitude had a far-reaching influence on rock, alternative rock in particular.^[2] They became widely referred to as "The Only Band That Matters", originally a promotional slogan introduced by the group's record label, CBS. In January 2003, the band—including original drummer Terry Chimes—were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked the Clash number 28 on their list of the 100 greatest artists of all time.^[3]

The Doors Band

The Doors were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California, with vocalist Jim Morrison, keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore, and guitarist Robby Krieger. The band took its name from Aldous Huxley's book The Doors of Perception,^[3] the title of which was a reference to a William Blake quotation: "If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite."^[4] They were among the most controversial rock acts of the 1960s, due mostly to Morrison's wild, poetic lyrics and charismatic but unpredictable stage persona. After Morrison's death in 1971, the remaining members continued as a trio until finally disbanding in 1973.^[1]

Although The Doors' active career ended in 1973, their popularity has persisted. According to the RIAA, they have sold over 35 million albums in the US alone.^[5] The band has sold nearly 100 million albums worldwide.^[6] Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger continue to tour as Manzarek-Krieger, performing Doors songs exclusively. Three of the band's studio albums, The Doors (1967), Strange Days (1967), and L.A. Woman (1971), were featured in the Rolling Stone list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, at positions 42, 407 and 362 respectively. In 1993, The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Band photography also involves knowing what looks good in different image formats, sizes and resolutions, which will differ greatly between print and online publications. Band photography must also keep in mind what the band will be using the photographs in, as the style and requirements will be different for shooting CD cover art versus a series of press packet photos.

The two most important parts of good band photography consist of studying the photograph's composition and focusing on the picture's overall subject. In most cases, the most interesting band photographic pictures are those where the viewer will see some dynamic motion, or feel a sense of action. Posing for a picture often looks inauthentic, especially when it is attempted just to capture some sort of seriousness that band doesn't even have. However, if the band is laid back and willing to have a little fun, then the band photographer might be able to capture some humorous facial expressions or unconventional poses.

The tried and true band photo technique is pose or position band members in the photograph in the same manner as they would appear on stage. For example, the lead singer stands in front of the bassist, with the drummer behind them. Make sure that the subjects know that they do not have to gaze straight ahead into the camera lens. A location outside, like a park, a garage or inside a recording studio can also add variety to a band's photography shoots.

Some of the best band member photographs are taken as the band is jamming or practicing a set. Those times are the perfect opportunity for a Gold Coast event photographer to snap a few candid moments, as well as capture a more intense side of the band. Inspiration for the art of band photography can be found all around you. Try looking in industry publications, professional musician magazines and local newspapers. Dustin Hawthorne and Steve Bays had been in many different bands together since 1995 and met Hawley in 1998. In 1999, Hawley bought a Juno 6 keyboard and asked Bays to try playing it, as no one else knew how. Hawley took over the drums from Bays and Hawthorne played bass. Matthew Marnik, who was a friend of the band, sang vocals. The band's original sound can be considered synthpunk.>

al-kisah Skudap Skudip....... Skudap skudip berasal daripada Taman Sri Andalas, Klang. Mula ditubuhkan pada tahun 2004. Mereka membawa genre SKA tapi di masukkan beberapa element lain seperti Reggea, Punk, Rock, Core dan lain-lain. Nama Skudap Skudip pada asalnya adalah ‘Kudap-kudapan’ (makanan ringan). Mereka mengibaratkan musik ska mereka adalah seperti makanan, sedap di dengar ketika bersantai. Lagu-lagu mereka dicipta berdasarkan pengalaman daripada lineup sendiri berkisarkan tentang bersahabatan dan percintaan..pada 2008Skudip telah mereleasekan EP pertama mereka berjudul “mengapa kenapa” mempunyai 3 lagu dan sebuah video Clip daripada kerjasama Pekan Maya Record. Pada 4 Julai 2009 Skudap Skudip telah pun mengeluarkan Album pertama mereka yang berjudul“Bukan Sudu Bukan Sudip” mempunyai 9 buah lagu dan kesemuanya berbahasa Malaysia..pada semua pencinta irama ska..ayuh....mari berdansKa....!!

One Buck Short

The band was founded by Hafiz and Rahul during their high school. One Buck Short began playing shows at school events and "battle of the bands" competitions before coming out in the local scene. The band performed in several concerts as the opening act for many international bands, including Fall Out Boy in Singapore and Good Charlotte, Panic at the Disco and My Chemical Romance in Kuala Lumpur. As well as opening for major acts, they have also been featured alongside other prominent acts at the 2007 SingFest music festival in Singapore, acts including Gym Class Heroes, Avenged Sevenfold and MxPx. They also appeared in local shows such as Rock the World IV, Rock the World V as well as the Asian X Games

Hujan                  

Hujan started out with the humbling beginning of performing at underground gigs around Malaysia since its inception in 2005, Hujan considered itself as the ultimate alternative band that enjoy singing in the Malay language. In 2008, Hujan began its embarkation in the mainstream popular culture when two of its singles, "Pagi Yang Gelap" and "Bila Aku Sudah Tiada" received massive airplay and numerous requests at the mainstream radio stations, thus exposing its talent to general Malaysians. At the same time, Hujan started to tour the United Kingdom thanks to the demands by Malaysian students who were studying at the aforementioned country. For the record, Hujan is the only band in Malaysia to have released 8 popular singles in a year! More than 100, 000 fans followed them over at MySpace, while their recorded performances uploaded at the infamous YouTube website have received more than 2 million viewers…and counting. So far, Hujan had successfully won 2 trophies at our very own AIM Awards, for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for "Bila Aku Sudah Tiada".
